ci: fix OLM health check and launcher failure classification for HyperShift CI - #1734
Follow-up to #1730, fixing two issues found in the first
runs of the v22 (HyperShift hosted cluster, OCP 4.22) jobs:
OLM health check was guaranteed to fail on HyperShift hosted clusters
(the che-happy-path job aborted before Che deployment on every run): verifyOLMHealth waited for the catalog-operator and olm-operator
deployments in openshift-operator-lifecycle-manager of the hosted
cluster, but they do not exist there — OLM v1 changed the component
layout on recent OCP releases, and the hosted cluster is created with --olm-catalog-placement management (catalog sources live in the
management cluster). The check failed with NotFound in ~1m40s: https://prow.ci.openshift.org/view/gs/test-platform-results/pr-logs/pull/devfile_devworkspace-operator/<PR#>/pull-ci-devfile-devworkspace-operator-main-v22-che-happy-path/<BUILD_ID>
Now it waits for the operator-lifecycle-manager ClusterOperator
condition — the version-agnostic health signal that exists in hosted
clusters on all supported releases.
Launcher download failures were misclassified as TEST in the failure
report: when the remote-launch.sh download fails, no test pod has
run, so classifying the failure from pod logs reported
"Test execution failure" (TEST category, "Retryable: No") for what is
a network/infrastructure issue. runHappyPathTest now returns a
distinct exit code (2) on a download failure and main() records
"Launcher download failure", which maps to the INFRA category.
Companion fixes to the HyperShift CI migration: the openshift/release PR
switches this repo's jobs to HyperShift hosted clusters and OCP 4.22
(variant v22).
Test plan
ci/prow/v22-che-happy-path on this PR — should get past the OLM
check and proceed to Che deployment (#88341)
The devworkspace-operator-e2e v22 job failure in the first run
was an infra flake (hosted cluster stuck on image-registry not
available for the whole step timeout) — unrelated to repo code(#88341)

Walkthrough
The happy-path CI script now checks OLM health through the operator-lifecycle-manager ClusterOperator and downloads the launcher before running it. It classifies launcher download failures as infrastructure failures. The OCI image now installs unzip.
Changes: Happy-path CI
Layer / File(s)
Summary
OLM health verification .ci/oci-devworkspace-happy-path.sh
The health check waits for the operator-lifecycle-manager ClusterOperator to become Available. If it does not, the script reports the failure and attempts to print the ClusterOperator YAML.
Launcher execution and failure reporting .ci/oci-devworkspace-happy-path.sh, .ci/oci.Dockerfile
The script downloads the launcher with curl -fsSL, runs it with ARTIFACT_DIR set to a dedicated subdirectory, and classifies download failures as infrastructure failures. It retains the retry, updates the Prow job URL to v22, and adds unzip to the OCI image.
devfile/devworkspace-operator#1730: Makes the same launcher download, failure classification, artifact directory, unzip, and v22 link changes. This PR also updates the OLM health check.
Merge Risk: Moderate · previous review 23bc2
A failed happy-path attempt can end the CI job without the intended retry or infrastructure classification. Guard both test calls before merging.

Capture test failures without exiting the script.
common.sh enables set -e. If runHappyPathTest 1 fails, the script exits before it records the failure or retries. Guard both calls and reset the status before the retry.
